In the eighth episode of Hell's Kitchen season 10, titled "12 Chefs Compete," the remaining contestants are reduced to a mere dozen as they continue to battle it out for the grand prize of becoming the head chef at Gordon Ramsay's new restaurant in Las Vegas.

The episode opens with a surprising twist - the chefs are informed that they will be taking over the kitchen at Gordon Ramsay Steak for the night, serving a VIP crowd of 50 people. As a reward for their hard work, the winning team will get to spend the night in a luxurious suite at Caesar's Palace.

Divided into two teams - the red team, led by Chef Christina, and the blue team, led by Chef Brian - the chefs are given the task of creating a menu for the evening, with Gordon Ramsay himself serving as their taste tester.

Despite some initial struggles to come up with a cohesive menu, both teams quickly get to work. The red team, consisting of Sarah, Kimmie, Jessica, Roshni, Danielle, and Briana, decides to focus on seafood for their appetizers, while the blue team, which includes Justin, Dan, Patrick, Royce, Clemenza, and Robyn, chooses to go with a more classic steakhouse feel.

In the kitchen, tensions run high as the chefs work to prepare their dishes. Some struggle with getting the timing right, while others have difficulty communicating with their teammates. Clemenza, in particular, makes an off-putting comment about Robyn's ability to handle the meat station, causing friction among the blue team.

As the guests arrive and begin to sample the dishes, it becomes clear that the competition is fierce. Both teams receive praise for their appetizers, but it's the entrees where the real battle ensues. The red team's seafood, while tasty, is criticized for being too safe, while the blue team's steaks are praised for their flavor but are found to be slightly overcooked.

In the end, it's the blue team that emerges victorious, thanks in large part to Chef Brian's leadership and the strength of their entrees. While the red team is forced to clean up the kitchen, the blue team heads off to enjoy their prize - a night in a luxurious suite at Caesar's Palace.

Back in Hell's Kitchen, Chef Ramsay wastes no time in giving the chefs their next challenge - a blind taste test. Each chef is given a dish and must correctly identify the ingredients in order to earn points for their team. As the challenge progresses, it becomes clear that some chefs have a better palate than others. Some, like Brian and Justin, are able to correctly identify multiple ingredients, while others, like Robyn, struggle to name even one.

After a close competition, the blue team emerges victorious once again, earning themselves a day of relaxation and pampering at a local spa.

But the moment of victory is short-lived, as the next challenge brings the chefs right back into the kitchen. In a test of their ability to handle high-pressure situations, each chef must prepare three identical dishes in just 40 minutes. As the clock ticks down, the chefs rush around the kitchen, chopping, sautéing, and plating as quickly as they can.

Despite some setbacks, like Roshni's burnt risotto and Dan's undercooked lamb, the competition is close. In the end, it's the blue team that comes out on top, with Justin's perfectly cooked salmon earning him the title of best dish of the night.

As the red team heads off to do the dreaded punishment, the blue team enjoys a night out at a local bar. But they can't party for too long - as Chef Ramsay reminds them, there are still 11 chefs left in the competition, and the road to the top is only getting harder.
