Eight chefs remain in the competition in season 3 episode 5 of Hell's Kitchen. The episode kicks off with the chefs arriving for their next challenge where they are split into two teams and tasked with creating a seven-course meal for the restaurant's VIP guests. The chefs must work together to create a cohesive menu and execute each dish flawlessly.
As the teams start prepping, tensions rise between the chefs, particularly on the blue team. Chef Ramsay notices the lack of teamwork and communication, and tensions escalate even further when one chef accidentally burns another chef's mise en place.
Despite the rocky start, both teams manage to get their dishes cooked and plated in time for service. The VIP guests arrive, and the teams eagerly await feedback on their dishes. Overall, the guests seem to enjoy the dishes, but there are a few standout dishes that impress Chef Ramsay.
As service winds down, the chefs anxiously await Chef Ramsay's decision on which team won the challenge. After deliberation, Chef Ramsay announces that the red team's dishes were slightly better, and they win the challenge.
The red team gets to enjoy a luxurious yacht cruise while the blue team must clean the dorms and prep for dinner service. The blue team isn't giving up, though, and they come back stronger than ever during dinner service.
During service, Chef Ramsay throws one of his infamous curveballs and has both teams switch stations, making the chefs have to adapt quickly to new environments. The chefs on both teams struggle at first, but they soon find their footing and start pumping out dishes.
There are a few hiccups during service, including overcooked meat by one chef and undercooked risotto by another, but overall the teams manage to bounce back and get dishes out on time. The red team wins dinner service, but Chef Ramsay mentions that it was a close call, and both teams have improved significantly.
As the episode comes to a close, the chefs return to the dorms, knowing that they are one step closer to becoming Head Chef at Gordon Ramsay's restaurant. But with only eight chefs remaining, the competition is more intense than ever.
