Hey Dude was the second live action TV show on Nickelodeon and was a western/comedy show. It was set on the "Bar None Dude Ranch" and followed the employees, the owner and his son, and other summer employees. The owner was a man from New Jersey who was divorced and decided to buy the ranch to move himself and his son there to start life anew after the divorce was settled. They hired four teenagers for the summer, as well as a female ranch hand to help keep the ranch running. It followed day to day life on the ranch, the upkeep of the horses, and the land the ranch was on, helping the teenage workers gain experiences in life through teamwork, and hard work. One of the stars of the show, Joe Torres, who played Danny Lightfoot, was a Hopi Indian who got the role after auditioning. It also stared David Brisbin as Mr. Benjamin Ernst, Sr., the ranch owner, and Josh Tygiel who played Benjamin "Buddy" Ernst, Jr., Mr. Ernst's son. The show was filmed in Arizona.
