House Hunters International Season 18 Episode 8 "Mode in Mediterranean Malta" follows fashion blogger and traveler, Jacey Duprie, as she searches for her dream home in the beautiful island of Malta. Malta, a Mediterranean paradise, has been becoming known for its beaches, crystal blue waters, and bustling cities over the years. For the lovely Jacey, however, she has different requirements.
Jacey is in search of a home that would suit her adventurous and reflective lifestyle. She wants a place that has a tranquil environment, with access to nature, ample natural light, and enough space for her creative projects. Her search for a perfect Mediterranean-modeled place with these features brings her to look out in diverse parts of Malta.
The episode opens up with Jacey getting to her hotel in Malta and giving viewers a glimpse of the beauty of the Island. Jacey also shares her experience of living in diverse places, but she admits that Malta has her heart, especially with its design and architecture. She shares her affinity for minimalist Mediterranean designs and hopes to find a home that screams her personality effortlessly.
In her hunt for the perfect home, the first house tour was an exquisite two-bedroom living space consisting of natural stone walls, arched ceilings, and wooden features designed explicitly for the Mediterranean style. Jacey was ecstatic about the intricate details and unique features of the house, but there were a few downsides like inadequate lighting for her vlogging, a significant distance from the town center, and the unavailability of separate office space for her work.
The second property, a three-bedroom home in a village outside of the capital city, Valletta. The house had more space than the first one, which was ideal for Jacey's lifestyle. The house also had a separate outside courtyard, adding to the charm of the property, and the natural light that spilled into every room was an added perk. However, Jacey was a little worried about the need to get a car to access the city, which could be an inconvenience for her.
Finally, Jacey's search takes her to a three-bedroom penthouse centrally located in Sliema, which is known as the island's fashion and shopping capital. The unique selling points of this apartment include an in-house elevator, sufficient storage space, and a stunning rooftop terrace with a 360 view of the Island. Admittedly, the penthouse was spot on for her in every way, and Jacey hints at the possibility of purchasing this property.
The episode moves on to the bidding stage with Jacey making an offer for the beautiful penthouse in Sliema. The seller, however, rejects jacey's offer, which leads to her reevaluating her options and revisiting the other properties. Jacey then decides to put in an offer for the second property she viewed outside the capital, which the sellers accept.
The episode ends with Jacey looking thrilled and relieved with her decision to purchase her beautiful new Maltese home, and the viewers share in Jacey's joy, hoping that she finds even more influence from her new home's atmosphere and her exciting journey ahead.
