House Hunters Season 2014 Episode 163 Leaving the Lake for a Western New York Mansion

  • November 27, 2014

In this episode of House Hunters, a family from Upstate New York is ready to say goodbye to their lakeside cabin and upgrade to a magnificent, sprawling mansion. The family of four, consisting of parents Trisha and Brian and their two young children, are seeking a bigger and more luxurious home in the Western New York region.

Trisha and Brian's lakeside cabin has provided their family with a serene and nature-filled sanctuary for years, but with two children, they need more space. The couple's wish list includes a grand foyer, multiple living areas, a luxurious kitchen, a dedicated office space, and plenty of room outside for their children to play. Plus, they want to stay within a reasonable distance of their current home and local attractions.

The first house on the tour is a quaint, yet cozy Colonial-style home with plenty of character and charm. The home boasts three living areas and is move-in ready. However, when Trisha sees the small kitchen, she expresses her concern about how it would accommodate her family's cooking needs. Brian isn't thrilled about how close the house is to the road, but loves the backyard and the potential it has for outdoor entertaining.

The second house is a grand, stately Colonial with a large open-concept layout, a stunning foyer, and a fabulous outdoor entertaining area. The home offers ample space for Trisha and Brian to work from home with dedicated office spaces. The couple loves the gourmet kitchen and all the entertaining space, but Trisha's not a fan of the bold wallpaper that's present in several of the rooms.

The third and final house on the tour is a massive, custom-built contemporary home with all the bells and whistles. The home boasts a grand, open-concept living space with floor-to-ceiling windows that offer stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The home also has a state-of-the-art kitchen and dedicated office spaces for both Trisha and Brian. However, the house is located further away from local attractions than the other options, and Trisha expresses concern about how her kids would adapt to a new school district.

After much consideration, Trisha and Brian make their decision, taking into account their children's needs and the overall livability of each option. Which house will they choose? Will they go for grandeur, character or move-in ready convenience? Tune in to find out on this exciting episode of House Hunters!
