In this episode of House Hunters, a newlywed couple starts their life together in North Carolina, but not without a few bumps in the road. With a limited budget, the couple is looking for a starter home that will accommodate their needs and style. However, finding the perfect home proves to be more challenging than they anticipated.

The couple, Brad and Olivia, are both originally from out of state and moved to North Carolina for work. They recently got married and are now ready to start their life together in a new home. Brad works in the healthcare industry and Olivia is a teacher, so they are looking for a budget-friendly home that is not too far from their workplaces.

Their wish-list includes a spacious kitchen with modern appliances and plenty of counter space, a sizeable master bedroom with an ensuite bathroom, a backyard for entertaining guests and enough space for a future addition to their family.

Initially hesitant about the idea of homeownership, the two agreed to give it a try once they found the right house. The couple starts their house hunting journey with their real estate agent, who shows them three properties that fit their budget and amenity needs.

The first house they see is a charming, traditional-style home in a quiet neighborhood with a beautiful backyard and an open layout. It features a formal dining room, a living room with a fireplace, and a large kitchen with a breakfast nook. Brad and Olivia are impressed with the potential of this house, but the downside is that it needs some renovations, especially in the kitchen area, which is not spacious enough for their liking. The reality of taking on a renovation project sets in and they move on to the next option.

The second house they see is a new construction located in a bustling suburban neighborhood with a good school district. The house has a modern design with an open floor plan, high ceilings, a large backyard, and a spacious kitchen with all-brand new appliances. Brad and Olivia loved the kitchen with its granite countertops, island and new appliances, but the lack of outdoor space and cramped rooms were concerning for them.

The last house they visit is a ranch-style home located on a corner lot. The house features three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large family room, and a sizeable kitchen with an attached dining area. Although the house lacks an open concept, the floor plan accommodates the couple's needs well. However, the biggest downside of this house is its proximity to the main road, which might be too noisy for comfortable living.

After seeing the properties, Brad and Olivia have some tough decisions to make. During the deliberation stage, the couple weighs the advantages and disadvantages of each property, trying to find the perfect combination of price, location, and amenities. They deliberate on the need for proper outdoor space, renovation efforts, the location's accessibility and the space requirements.

In the end, Brad and Olivia decide to make an offer on a home that they feel is the best fit for them. It offers an efficient floor plan with space to accommodate their current and future family needs, all within their budget. As they start their journey in their new home, they feel excited about the future and the possibilities that await them. The selection process was a challenge but it was worth it for this newlywed couple.
