Ep 10. Failing Score x Panic x Voice from Heaven

Gon and Killua are preparing for the final phase of the Hunter Exam, a tournament-style battle royale. They meet a fellow contestant named Kurapika who reveals that he is a member of the Kurta Clan, a group of people with a unique ability to turn their eyes blood red when they experience extreme emotions, which makes them highly sought after by collectors who sell their eyes on the black market. Kurapika is on a mission to find the group responsible for the massacre of his clan and reclaim the stolen eyes. The trio agrees to work together in the tournament to increase their chances of success.

Meanwhile, Leorio is struggling to pass the medical exam and fears he will not make it to the final phase. He receives unexpected help from Tonpa, a fellow contestant who had been sabotaging Leorio throughout the exam, but now has a change of heart and decides to help him. Tonpa reveals that the examiner who is grading Leorio is notorious for failing a high percentage of candidates and suggests that Leorio should use a loophole in the rules to pass the exam.

As the tournament begins, Gon and Killua easily defeat their opponents with their exceptional skills. Kurapika, on the other hand, struggles to control his emotions and fears that his eyes will turn red, which would reveal his identity to the whole audience. He is pitted against the muscular, ax-wielding opponent, Majitani, who taunts him and triggers his anger. However, Kurapika manages to maintain his composure and defeats Majitani with a clever strategy.

Leorio's turn arrives, but he is visibly nervous and unable to perform the required tasks. Just as he is about to fail, he hears a voice from heaven, which reassures him and gives him the motivation to continue. Leorio completes the exam and passes, while the other contestants are shocked by the sudden appearance of the voice.

Later, the remaining contestants gather for the results of the first phase, but they are surprised to learn that it has been cancelled due to a security breach. The examiners reveal that someone has stolen a valuable item from the testing site and demand that the perpetrator come forward or the whole group will be disqualified. Gon, Killua, Kurapika, and Leorio team up to investigate the theft and clear their names.

The episode ends with the four friends discovering a clue that leads them to suspect that one of the other contestants is responsible for the theft. They vow to catch the culprit and continue their journey to become Hunters.
