While trying to apprehend a pair of dangerous armed-robbery suspects, Hunter and McCall cross paths with Raul Mercado, the most popular reporter on the premiere television station In Los Angeles. After accusing Mercado of hindering his pursuit of the criminals, Hunter finds his career threatened by the vindictive journalist's stinging nightly news reports.
