Ep 2. The Handcuffs

Lucy and Ricky are running late for a dinner party hosted by Ricky's boss, Mr. Littlefield. Lucy is still getting ready, while Ricky is anxious to leave as soon as possible. In her haste to finish getting dressed, Lucy accidentally picks up a pair of handcuffs that were left on the dresser by a neighbor who is a police officer.

While riding in the car, Lucy playfully puts the handcuffs on Ricky's wrist, but accidentally drops the key down the drain outside their apartment. After stopping at a locksmith and failing to get the handcuffs off, they decide to go to the party as is.

At the party, Ricky tries to keep his hand hidden and make excuses for why he can't shake hands with people or eat. Meanwhile, Lucy is left to entertain Mr. Littlefield and other guests.

Things take a turn for the worse when Mr. Littlefield asks for Ricky's help with a magic trick involving a sword and a volunteer assistant. Ricky reluctantly volunteers Lucy to assist him, not realizing that her other hand is handcuffed to his. Chaos ensues as the act goes wrong and Lucy and Ricky try to hide their predicament from the audience.

After the trick fails, Lucy and Ricky slip away to the kitchen to try and figure out a way to get the handcuffs off. In the process, they accidentally set off a fire extinguisher, causing even more chaos.

Finally, the locksmith arrives and helps them remove the handcuffs. They are able to salvage their evening and enjoy the rest of the party, but the mishap serves as a lesson about the dangers of mischievous play with police equipment.
