Ep 1. Lucy Visits Grauman's

In I Love Lucy season 5 episode 1, titled "Lucy Visits Grauman's," Lucy and her best friend Ethel decide to take a trip to Hollywood to try and get into the movies. While in Hollywood, Lucy hears about Grauman's Chinese Theatre and becomes determined to leave a lasting impression on the famous landmark.

Lucy and Ethel plan to make handprints in the cement in front of the theatre, just like many of the famous movie stars before them. They arrive early in the morning before the ceremony begins, and Lucy notices some cement mix left over from the previous day's event. She decides to make her mark by adding her own handprints to the mix, creating a unique and hilarious situation.

Meanwhile, Ricky and Fred are back in New York, and Ricky is having a hard time dealing with Lucy's absence. He serenades her with a song over the phone and even imagines her coming back to him in the form of a dream sequence. Fred, on the other hand, seems to be at peace without his wife around, but he eventually starts to get bored and decides to take up a new hobby: photography.

Back in Hollywood, Lucy and Ethel's plan doesn't quite go as expected. When the cement is unveiled, they realize that Lucy's handprints are far too large and mismatched to any of the other prints. Lucy is embarrassed and flees the scene, leaving Ethel to try and smooth things over with the press.

To make up for her mistake, Lucy comes up with a new plan. She decides to star in a reenactment of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, which is being filmed at a nearby studio. Lucy's over-the-top performance, complete with a bright red wig and dramatic acting, steals the show and proves that she truly is a one-of-a-kind talent.

In the end, the gang is reunited when Ricky joins Lucy in Hollywood for the premiere of her film. The episode ends with a humorous twist when it's revealed that the only parts of Lucy's performance that made it into the film were her hands, which were shown signing the Declaration of Independence.
