Itazura na Kiss Season 1 Episode 2 Living Together is Dangerous
- April 9, 2008
Kotoko Aihara is a high school student who has been in love with Naoki Irie, a handsome, intelligent and popular student who is aloof towards her. In the previous episode, Kotoko confesses her feelings to Naoki but he coldly rejects her, telling her that he doesn't like stupid girls. Undeterred, Kotoko remains determined to win Naoki's heart.
At the start of episode 2, Kotoko's house has been destroyed in an earthquake and she is left homeless. Naoki's family offers to let Kotoko and her father live with them temporarily. Kotoko is overjoyed at the prospect of living under the same roof as Naoki, even though he detests the idea.
As the title suggests, living together proves to be a challenge. Kotoko is clumsy and accidentally sets a fire in the Irie family's kitchen. Naoki is unimpressed by her lack of skills and scolds her for her mistakes. Kotoko's father is also a bit of a disaster, constantly eating and creating messes around the house. Naoki's little brother also proves to be a handful, constantly pranking Kotoko and her father.
As the days go on, Kotoko starts to understand Naoki better as she observes his habits and daily routine. She quickly realizes that he is a perfectionist who excels at everything he does, from academics to sports. Kotoko also learns that Naoki's mother died when he was young and this has affected his personality and behavior towards others.
Despite the challenges of living together, Kotoko remains determined to win Naoki's affection. She starts to work hard in school and develops a passion for nursing, hoping to impress Naoki with her intelligence and dedication. However, Naoki continues to push her away, believing that they are from different worlds and will never be on the same level.
The episode ends with Kotoko feeling disheartened and wondering if she will ever win Naoki's heart. Naoki, meanwhile, is shown to be secretly impressed by her dedication and hard work, hinting that he may be starting to develop feelings for her.
Overall, episode 2 of Itazura na Kiss showcases the challenges of living together with someone you have feelings for but who doesn't reciprocate those feelings. It also delves into Naoki's character and provides some insight into why he is so distant towards others. The episode is filled with comedic moments as Kotoko and her father navigate life in the Irie household, but it also has some touching moments as Kotoko starts to understand Naoki better and develop her own passions.
