Watch Kimi ni Todoke - From Me To You

The Japanese animation Kimi ni Todoke (From Me To You) is based off of the award winning shoujo manga written by Karuho Shiina. The anime is centered on Sawako Kuronuma, a misunderstood youth, and her transition into the social world with the help of new found friends. Sawako's startling resemblance to the cursed character from the film The Ring earned her a less than appealing reputation and the nickname Sadako starting from childhood. Rumors flew about Sawako's cryptic and frightening powers including the ability to see ghosts and curse people with a single look. These mistaken beliefs created a barrier between her and the rest of the social world. Friends were hard to come by and though she dreamed of finding her own niche in society, Sawako's innocence and modesty prevented her from clearing up these misconceptions and forced her to find content in solitude. That is, until her idol, Shota Kazehaya, the most popular and cheerful boy at school, took her under his wing and turned her world upside down. With his help Sawako was able to clear up many misunderstandings and earn the friendship of Ayane Yano, the mature romantic, Chizuru Yoshida, the tomboy, and Ryu Sanada, the athlete. Each person brought a new flavor and unique view on life to Sawako, aiding in her gaining new perspectives and understandings of what school life should be like.

Sawako's story has gained much praise and recognition spanning two seasons and spawning a live action film. Episodes originally aired in Japan but spread across to North America in Canada and the United States as the stories fan base grew.

37 engaging episodes follow Sawako's various adventures and mishaps in her struggle to gain companionship, acceptance and find love for the first time. The various obstacles and circumstances that come about as Sawako grows and matures from entering the new and exciting social world make her overwhelmingly happy. She finds herself grateful and somewhat indebted to Shota Kazehaya and works hard to become a cheerful, bright person to pay Kazehaya back for his kindness. Sawako soon finds that her experiences involving him quickly become her most cherished moments and their feelings soon blossom into a timeless first love.
