To Love-Ru Darkness is an anime series, the sequel to the original series, To Love-Ru. The story of the series is centered upon the protagonist, Rito Yuki, a high school student who comes into encounter with various members of a distant planet, Develuke. Lala, the heiress to the throne of Develuke, has been residing with Rito after a mishap a long ways ago, wherein she'd married Rito in order to stay on Earth, instead of marrying a husband candidate chosen for her by her father. In the sequel, Nana and Momo, younger sisters of Lala and princesses of Develuke, venture to Earth, enrolling in the same school as their older sister so that she could keep an eye on them. Momo falls for Rito, too, much to Lala's discontent; in the meantime, Yami, the Golden Darkness, invades Earth alongside an army of possessed high school students. The series follows Rito and his companions as they attempt to deal with the various trials and tribulations that follow them, most often dealing with visitors from other planets, and Rito's humorous rejection and appall as an ordinary human boy.
