Yuta Togashi appears to be your typical high school student. Enrolled in a school by his own choice where he knows no one, he tries his best to fit in, make friends, and not stand out. But Yuta has a dark secret- he used to suffer from chunibyo. Chunibyo, also known as eighth-grade sickness, led him to delusions of grandeur and magic he's doing his best to put behind him. There's only one problem with that: Rikka Takanashi, a girl who just moved in to his apartment complex and suffers from chunibyo in a bad way.

Love, Chunibyo and Other Delusions follows the story of Yuta and Rikka as they traverse daily high school life and Rikka's attempts to drag Yuta back into his old embarrassing ways as the Dark Flame Master.

  • Interested in their relationship now they are living together, Shinka, Sanae, and Kumin keep an eye on Yūta and Rikka, the latter of which has ended up spending nearly all of her monthly allowance. After Yūta reveals they had yet to even get to even hold hands, Shinka takes him to meet her friend Kazari Kannagi, who arranges for Yūta and Rikka to go on a date. Yūta decides to take her to the aquarium to see the dolphins, where they start holding hands. As Rikka states her uncertainty over what lovers should do, Yūta decides that he is fine with their relationship staying the way it is for now. Later that night, Rikka meets a peculiar girl that had moved into her old apartment, in much the same way Yūta first met her.

  • Rikka begins to acclimate herself to living a normal life, successfully making friends in the process. Sanae, however, isn't too happy about it. Rikka heads off to visit her father's grave, with Yuta left at the station, waiting for her to return.
