Ep 7. Abra Cadaver

While the previous episode of iZombie made for an interesting delve into Ravi's psyche, Abra Cadaver brings viewers right back into the world of brain-eating and zombie crime-solving.

In this episode, Liv is tasked with solving the murder of a famous illusionist named Marlon, whose body was found beneath a stage trapdoor. As always, the brains that Liv consumes play an important role in her investigation - in this case, giving her newfound abilities as a "mentalist" that aid her in uncovering the truth about Marlon's death.

Alongside Liv's murder-solving, we see a few subplots play out in Abra Cadaver as well. Major continues his journey to take down the zombie sketch comedy troupe, while Clive is dealing with the fallout of his failed relationship with Dale. Peyton also makes an appearance in this episode, reigniting her friendship with Liv as they bond over their shared interest in Marlon's magic tricks.

Overall, Abra Cadaver is a solid offering from iZombie's second season, with plenty of magic-themed nods and a genuinely intriguing mystery to solve. Fans of the show will appreciate Liv's continued evolution as a character, and the episode does a good job of furthering some of the season's wider arcs as well.
