Ep 1. Heaven Just Got A Little Bit Smoother

Seattle's resident zombie, Liv Moore, is back with another season of her thrilling adventures in iZombie. Season 3 episode 1, 'Heaven Just Got A Little Bit Smoother,' opens with Liv and her ex-fiancé Major Lillywhite, enjoying their last meal together before Major takes off to join Fillmore Graves, a private military contractor. Meanwhile, Blaine DeBeers is seen with a stack of wads of cash that he has won by dealing with people's brains.

Liv is excited about her prospects in her new job, where she uses her ability to eat brains of dead people and get flashes of their lives and abilities to solve murders with detective Clive Babineaux. At the same time, Major has his first day of work at Fillmore Graves, where he joins a group of fellow zombies. They train, exercise, and learn combat tactics in expectation of the impending war between humans and zombies.

Blaine, on the other hand, is living the high life, with people flocking to him for the latest brains. But his euphoria is short-lived when he discovers that he has some of the illicit Utopium Dispersal Device that he stole in the previous season.

Meanwhile, Liv is feeling the effects of eating the dominatrix's brain, feeling more sexual, assertive, and aggressive. Clive is somewhat taken aback by the change in Liv's personality due to her eating the brain, and struggles to understand her new behavior.

While working on the case, Liv and Clive encounter the Eyez truck, a mobile group known for distributing Utopium, and decide to follow it. They manage to intercept the truck and capture the driver, who turns out to be Blaine's former henchman, Don E.

As the episode progresses, we see a proposal of a new law being made. It proposes to have zombies revealed to the public and registered, and if need be, quarantined. Fillmore Graves' leadership, however, debates about whether or not to allow the passing of the legislation.

The episode ends with Major being given an assignment to take out a group of rogue zombies. He carries out his orders without a second thought and ends up killing innocent zombies.
