Ep 9. Twenty Sided, Die

Liv Moore, the medical examiner-slash-zombie heroine of iZombie, is usually busy solving murder cases by chowing down on brains and taking on the personalities of the deceased. But this week, she's taking a break from human brains and engaging in a different sort of role play: Dungeons and Dragons.

The episode, titled "Twenty Sided, Die," finds Liv and her friends at the gaming store where Clive's nephew works. They're there to investigate the murder of one of the gamers who was found dead in his mother's basement, surrounded by his fellow D&D enthusiasts.

As usual, Liv eats the dead guy's brain and assumes his personality, which happens to be a Dungeon Master. She quickly immerses herself in the world of D&D, to the delight of her friends and the amusement of Clive. But as she delves deeper into the game, she discovers that there may be more to the murder than meets the eye.

Meanwhile, Major continues to struggle with the effects of his zombie cure, which are causing him to lose his memories. He desperately searches for a way to reverse the damage, but his quest leads him down a dangerous path.

As Liv navigates the complex world of D&D and works to solve the murder, she also confronts some personal demons. She's still reeling from her break-up with Major, and her feelings for him are complicated by the fact that he's now human again. And as she spends time with Clive's nephew, who is also a gamer, she sees a bit of herself in him and wonders if she can ever have a "normal" life.
