Amidst all this chaos, Jack is also dealing with his personal life. He meets a woman named Linda Hillier, who works at a bar he frequently visits. Linda is kind and sympathetic towards Jack and offers him a glimmer of hope. They start dating, but Jack is hesitant to get too close as he is still haunted by the death of his wife.

The episode ends with Jack uncovering the truth behind the horse doping and confronting the culprits. He manages to save Harry Strang's reputation and get him back on his feet. However, he realizes that his life is still in danger as Sonny Koa is still out there, waiting for his revenge.
