  • February 4, 2005

LeAnn Rimes stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! on the show's third season episode 10, and the country singer was all smiles as she took her seat. The show opened up with Kimmel's traditional monologue, which featured a couple jokes about current events at the time. After the monologue was finished, Rimes was introduced, and the two sat down to have a conversation.

Kimmel started the interview by complimenting Rimes' dress and shoes, which she graciously accepted. He then mentioned that Rimes had been in the music industry for a long time, and asked her how she first got started. She explained that she started singing at a young age and it just continued to grow from there. When Kimmel asked if there was ever a moment when she realized she had made it, Rimes said that she was still having those moments.

The conversation then turned to Rimes' music. Kimmel noted that she had just released an album called Spitfire, and asked her what message she was trying to convey with the album. Rimes said that she wanted to show her fans who she truly was, and that the album is very personal to her. She added that she had a lot of fun making it, and that it was a true labor of love.

Kimmel then brought up Rimes' husband, Eddie Cibrian, and asked how they met. Rimes explained that they had met on the set of a TV movie that they were both starring in. She said that they had an instant connection, but that they were both married to other people at the time. It wasn't until years later that they were both single and decided to give their relationship a chance.

The conversation then turned to Rimes' recent trip to Africa. Kimmel noted that Rimes had posted a lot of pictures from the trip on her social media accounts, and asked her to talk about the experience. Rimes said that it was a life-changing experience and that she was blown away by the beauty and kindness of the people she met there. She added that she was also struck by the poverty and the need for aid, and that she wanted to do more to help.

As the interview came to a close, Kimmel asked Rimes if she had any upcoming projects she wanted to promote. Rimes said that she was going on tour soon to promote her new album, and that she was looking forward to getting back on the road and performing for her fans. She added that she was also in the process of writing a book, which she hoped would be released in the near future.

Rimes then performed one of the songs from her new album, which received a standing ovation from the audience. As the show ended, Kimmel thanked Rimes for coming on and wished her luck with her upcoming projects.
