Joey and the Big Break (1) is the first episode of the second season of the American sitcom, Joey. The show follows Joey Tribbiani, played by Matt LeBlanc, as he moves to Los Angeles after his spin-off from Friends. In this episode, Joey lands an audition for the lead role in a big Hollywood movie, called Deep Powder.

The episode begins with Joey attending an audition for a small role in a commercial. He nails it and gets a call from his agent, Bobbie Morganstern, played by Jennifer Coolidge, telling him that he has an audition for the lead role in Deep Powder. Joey is ecstatic and excitedly tells his sister, Gina, played by Drea de Matteo, about the news.

With the audition coming up in just a few days, Joey enlists the help of his friends and family to prepare. He hires a dialect coach to help him with his English accent and practices his lines with his nephew, Michael. He also takes his friends Alex, played by Andrea Anders, and Zach, played by Miguel A. Núñez Jr. to a restaurant to help him practice scenes that require a romantic touch.

On the day of the audition, Joey arrives at the studio and meets the director, Walter, played by Jason Brooks. Walter is impressed with Joey's performance during the audition, but Joey is disappointed when he learns that he has to audition again with a different actress playing the lead role. To make things worse, he sees that the other actor auditioning for the role is Robert, his former co-star on Days of Our Lives.

Joey becomes increasingly anxious and nervous about his audition and turns to his friends and family for support. However, he soon realizes that they may not be as helpful as he had hoped. His nephew Michael is too busy with schoolwork to help him practice his lines, and his sister, Gina, is too preoccupied with her new business venture to give him the attention he needs.

Despite the setbacks, Joey remains determined to land the role of his dreams. He does everything he can to impress Walter and the casting director, including acting out the scene in which his character is supposed to ski off a cliff. He even refuses to give up when he is told that he needs to lose some weight in order to look more believable in his ski gear.

In the end, Joey receives some surprising news regarding the role and is left to make a tough decision. Will he take the role and risk losing his friends and family in the process? Or will he prioritize his loved ones over his career?

Joey and the Big Break (1) is a heartwarming and humorous episode that showcases Joey's determination and resilience in the face of adversity. It explores the complex relationships between friends and family, and the sacrifices that people often have to make in order to pursue their dreams. With a strong cast and clever writing, this episode is a great introduction to season two of the hit sitcom, Joey.
