Back at home, Donna is having her own problems organizing the fundraiser. She is tasked with coming up with a theme, and after a few failed attempts, she settles on a "medieval fair" theme.

Throughout the episode, Kevin and Donna struggle to get their respective projects off the ground. Kevin's coffee-brewing skills leave a lot to be desired, and Donna's medieval theme is not going over well with the other parents.

In the end, Kevin and Mott's coffee shop idea falls through when they realize they don't have enough money to start the business. Donna, however, is able to save the fundraiser by changing the theme to a more modern theme that is more appealing to the parents.
