In season 3, episode 7 of the true crime show Killing Fields, titled "Murder Isle: The Hunting Grounds," the detectives of the Iberville Parish Sheriff's Office continue their search for a young woman named Eugenie Boisfontaine, who went missing in 1997.

The episode opens with Detective Leslie Bradford speaking to a man who claims to have seen Eugenie the night she disappeared. The man says he picked her up on the side of the road and drove her to a convenience store before dropping her off at a nearby trailer park. Though this is a promising lead, Bradford and her partner, Detective Aubrey St. Angelo, have learned to take all information with a grain of salt.

Next, the detectives head to a property known as "Murder Isle" - a densely wooded area where multiple bodies have been found over the years. They are joined by forensic anthropologist Dr. Mary Manhein, who specializes in identifying human remains. Armed with shovels and a metal detector, the team begins to search for any signs of Eugenie's body.

As they dig through the layers of soil, Dr. Manhein explains that Murder Isle is a prime location for disposing of bodies because it is isolated and difficult to access. She also notes that the soil in the area is rich in organic material, which can accelerate the decomposition process.

While Bradford and St. Angelo dig, another member of the team uses the metal detector to scan the surrounding area. Though they do find a few objects, including a stray bullet and an old beer can, none of them are significant to the case.

Back at the sheriff's office, Detective Rodie Sanchez receives a phone call from a man who claims to have information about Eugenie's disappearance. The man, who wants to remain anonymous, says he overheard a conversation between two men who knew what happened to Eugenie. Sanchez and his partner, Detective Brett Stassi, head to the man's house to follow up on the lead.

The man tells them that one of the men involved in Eugenie's disappearance is now deceased, but the other is still alive. He gives them a name and a vague description of what happened, but the detectives know that they will need more concrete evidence before they can make an arrest.

Meanwhile, Bradford and St. Angelo receive a tip that a woman who knew Eugenie may have information about her disappearance. They meet with the woman, who claims that Eugenie was involved with a group of drug dealers and may have been killed for owing them money. Though the woman's story is compelling, the detectives are cautious - they have heard many false leads over the years.

The episode ends with the detectives still searching for answers. Though they have made progress, they know that the case is far from over. As Bradford says, "We're not going to give up until we find Eugenie."
