Ep 3. The Harvest

In Killjoys season 1 episode 3, titled "The Harvest," the crew of the spaceship Lucy is tasked with retrieving a group of missing migrant workers on the planet Westerley. Upon arrival, they discover that the missing workers were actually kidnapped by a group of "Reclamation Agents" who are part of a violent cult called the Scarbacks.

The Scarbacks believe in a deity known as Aneela and use the missing workers in a sacrificial ritual to appease her. The crew of Lucy, consisting of Killjoys Dutch, John, and their tech expert Lucy, must rescue the workers before they are killed in the ritual.

As they navigate the dangerous cult territory, the crew is forced to confront their own beliefs and moral codes. Dutch grapples with her own past involvement in an extremist religious sect, while John and Lucy are faced with making tough decisions to ensure the safety of the workers.

Meanwhile, a bounty hunter named D'avin makes his first appearance on the show, adding a new dynamic to the already complex relationships among the characters. His arrival also brings up questions about his own past and motivations.

As the crew races against the clock to save the workers, they must also confront the Scarbacks and their psychotic leader, Khlyen, who has his own plans for the planet and its people.

The episode is filled with action-packed scenes, intense character moments, and intriguing plot twists. It sets up the overarching themes and conflicts that will continue throughout the season.
