Ep 4. Be First

In Kingdom (2014) season 2 episode 4 titled "Be First," our beloved characters find themselves in a series of tense situations, as usual. Ryan Wheeler is struggling to come to terms with his new reality outside of prison. With his fighting career over, he's feeling lost and disconnected from the world around him. Alvey Kulina, the owner of Navy Street Gym where Ryan trained and fought, sees potential in Ryan that goes beyond the fight cage. Alvey is trying to persuade Ryan to work with him as a coach and help train young fighters, but Ryan is skeptical.

Meanwhile, Lisa is struggling with her new role as a manager for the gym. She's trying to make Navy Street the biggest and best gym in Los Angeles, but the competition is fierce. When Lisa hears about a bout that could put Navy Street on the map, she jumps at the chance. But promoting the fight is a lot harder than she anticipated, and she's running into roadblocks at every turn. She decides to take matters into her own hands and puts everything she has into making this fight a success.

Jay, Alvey's other son, is dealing with his own issues. He's still struggling with addiction and is constantly at odds with his family. When he catches wind of the big fight, he sees an opportunity to get back in his family's good graces. He takes it upon himself to promote the event, but ends up making things worse. His erratic behavior creates tension between him and his family, especially Alvey.

The episode explores the dynamics between these characters and their individual struggles. Ryan is trying to move on from his past, but he's not sure where his future lies. Alvey is trying to build something with Ryan, but he's not getting the cooperation he needs. Lisa is passionate about her job, but she's learning that the road to success is long and difficult. And Jay is still grappling with his addiction and his strained relationship with his family.

As the episode unfolds, tensions build and relationships are tested. Each character is faced with difficult choices and must navigate their way through obstacles. We see the characters at their most vulnerable and their most resilient. By the end of the episode, the stage is set for an epic fight, but the real question remains - will these characters be able to come together and find common ground, or will their individual struggles tear them apart?
