Kitchen Crashers season 2 episode 2, titled "Dated & Dark Kitchen Overhaul," features host Alison Victoria as she transforms a dreary kitchen stuck in the 1970s into a modern, functional space. The homeowners, a family of six with young children, are tired of the cramped, dark and outdated kitchen, and they are ready for a complete renovation.

Alison starts by getting rid of the old, small and dark cabinets and replacing them with bright, spacious ones made of white shaker-style wood. She also adds a large island to give the family more counter space and uses a light gray material for the countertops that complement the new cabinets.

One of the biggest issues in this kitchen was the lack of storage, so Alison installs new pull-out pantry cabinets and spice racks to make the most of the available space. Additionally, she replaces the old appliances with stainless steel models that are modern and energy-efficient.

The dining area is transformed with a new built-in banquette, complete with custom-built storage drawers underneath. This allows the family to use the previously unused corner space for seating and storage. Alison also replaces the old light fixtures with new, trendy ones that add a pop of color and interest to the space.

One of the most unique features Alison adds to the kitchen is a custom backsplash made of white subway tiles with a geometric pattern made from a mix of blue, green, and white tiles. The result is a vibrant and eye-catching design that lifts the entire space.
