Unique Sweets is a show that explores the wonderful world of pastries and desserts, one, sweet bite at a time. Each week, a gamut of food writers and chefs come together to explore the unique dessert offerings around the country, and no sweet stone is left uncovered. From the cupcakeries of Brooklyn, NY, to the Cake Decorators of the OC, this show hunts them down and features their greatest concoctions. Each episode is broken down into four segments that feature confection shops from across the nation. From coast-to-coast, the show highlights the finest bakeries and sweet shops in specific areas; most creating unique and decedent sweets. The hosts share the history of the sweet shop they will be visiting and their owners, followed by information about their most famous confection. The segment on each location wraps up with a hands-on approach to how the confection is made and, of course, a tasting of the sweet. The hosts of this show leave no sweet, stone uncovered. The treat shops covered range from mom-and-pop bakeries, to freelance cake makers, to famous chocolate locales across the nation. During the hour-long episode audiences are given a crash course in desserts and everything sweet the life has to offer. The hosts, all food-industry experts, also share their experiences and thoughts on each confection that they get to sample. The show, truly, celebrates those in the dessert field who are truly innovative and unique. Viewers can expect odd flavor combinations, decadent surprises, and sweet confections that are a bit off the beaten path.
