The episode "Confession" is the second episode of the tenth season of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. It follows the investigations of the Special Victims Unit after a woman is brutally attacked by a client of the escort service she works for.
Detectives Elliot Stabler and Olivia Benson arrive at the scene of the crime to interview the victim, who is in critical condition in the hospital. The victim claims that the man who attacked her was a regular client of the service and had been stalking her for weeks. When the detectives bring in the suspect, he confesses to the crime but claims that the victim was the one who had initiated the attack.
As the investigation progresses, the detectives discover that the victim had lied about her employment and had been working as a prostitute instead of an escort. This revelation causes tension between Benson and Stabler, as the former believes that the victim is entitled to the same protections and resources as any other victim, while the latter is skeptical of her credibility due to her profession.
The case also leads the detectives to a prominent attorney who is defending a man accused of raping a teenage girl. As the attorneys on both sides fight to secure a verdict, the detectives uncover a web of lies and deceit that stretches far beyond the initial crime.
"Confession" is a gripping and emotionally charged episode that explores important themes of power, privilege, and victimhood. It features standout performances from series regulars Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni, as well as guest stars Christine Lahti and Liza Minnelli. Overall, this episode is an excellent addition to the already impressive Law & Order: Special Victims Unit series.
