In Law & Order: Special Victims Unit season 14 episode 20, titled "Traumatic Wound," the SVU team investigates a case involving a college student who claims to have been raped by her professor. When the suspect is found dead, the detectives must determine whether the girl took matters into her own hands or if someone else killed the professor to silence him.

The episode begins with a terrified college student named Mia frantically calling the police after she claims to have been sexually assaulted by her professor, Greg Yates. The SVU team immediately launches an investigation and discovers that Yates is a renowned writer who has had several allegations of sexual assault levied against him over the years. When they track him down at a book signing, they inform him of the allegations and tell him to come to the station to answer questions.

However, things quickly take a turn when Yates is found dead in his car with a bullet wound to his head. The detectives are now faced with the difficult task of determining who wanted the professor dead and whether Mia played a role in his murder.

As the investigation deepens, the team discovers that Yates had been working on a controversial new book about a serial killer who murders young women. They also learn that the gun used to kill Yates was stolen from a local gun range by one of his former students, a troubled young man named Josh.

Meanwhile, Detective Rollins is struggling with her own trauma after a recent assault, and her personal struggles begin to affect her work on the case. She becomes increasingly obsessed with finding justice for Mia and becomes convinced that the girl is telling the truth about her assault.

As the pieces of the puzzle begin to fall into place, the detectives realize that Mia's allegations of assault may have been what ultimately led to Yates' death. However, they also uncover a shocking twist that reveals the true motive behind the professor's murder.

"Traumatic Wound" is a tense and emotional episode that tackles difficult themes of sexual assault, trauma, and revenge. The complex characters and intricate plot will keep viewers on the edge of their seats until the very end.
