Ep 1. The Resurrection

Life Below Zero season 6 episode 1, titled "The Resurrection," takes viewers back to the rugged Alaskan wilderness where we follow six hearty individuals as they tackle the challenges of living off the land. In this episode, she is preparing for the arrival of her first guests in a long time, and there's a lot to be done. Upkeep on the cabins is crucial, and she has to do it all while protecting the camp from any outside dangers.

Jessie Holmes is a trapper who's in the middle of a harsh winter. For months, he has been living off his trapping prowess and has no option but to rely on it for survival. Jessie's work requires him to brave harsh winter conditions for days, and he always has to keep his wits about him to keep from freezing or falling through the ice.

We then spend time with Andy and Kate Bassich, who reside near the Yukon River in Alaska. This couple is a perfect match as they share the same love for living off the land and depend on each other to survive in the harsh Alaskan environment. In this episode, they're storing food and firewood, preparing for the cold months ahead.

Lastly, we meet Erik Salitan, who is based in Wiseman, a remote town 250 miles away from the Arctic Circle. Here, Erik has set up a guide service, and his duties include taking clients on hunting and exploring expeditions. However, his life isn't all work and no play, and we follow him as he makes time for his trusted dog pack and general upkeep of his home and property.

Throughout the episode, viewers are shown that life in Alaska can be both extraordinary and extremely challenging. This show takes viewers to some of the most remote and unforgiving parts of North America, and it surely doesn't disappoint.
