Brian Finch is a struggling musician in New York City, trying to make ends meet and find inspiration for his music. However, things take a sudden turn for him when he discovers a mysterious drug called NZT-48.

After being introduced to the drug by his friend Eli, Brian experiences a sudden boost in his cognitive abilities, allowing him to remember everything he's ever seen or heard and solve complex problems with ease. He uses these newfound abilities to impress his father and get his life back on track.

However, he soon learns of the dangers of the drug as some of its users have faced severe side effects. Meanwhile, a brilliant FBI agent named Rebecca Harris is investigating a series of murders, and her path soon crosses with Brian's as they both try to solve the case.

As Brian's use of the drug catches the attention of powerful people, including a US senator, he must navigate these dangerous waters whilst trying to find more of the drug to maintain his newfound abilities. With the help of a mysterious associate named Eddie Morra, who also takes the drug, Brian tries to uncover the true origins of NZT-48 and stay one step ahead of those who want to use it for their own gain.

Throughout the episode, Brian's character is explored in depth, and we learn about his past struggles and his desire to make a better life for himself. We also see the beginnings of a complex relationship between him and Rebecca, as they both work together to solve the case and grow to trust each other despite their differences.

Overall, the Pilot episode of Limitless is a thrilling introduction to the world of NZT-48, with complex characters, intricate plotlines, and plenty of intrigue and action to keep audiences hooked.
