Detective Sergeant Steve Arnott is under pressure to close the investigation into the shooting of an innocent man in a counter-terrorism operation. With Anderson's grave warnings ringing in his ear, Arnott persists in pushing the case against Gates as a corrupt officer, then, with Fleming's help, conducts a risky one-on-one confrontation in a desperate bid to uncover Gates' secrets. Meanwhile, Gates is running out of time to cover his tracks. With Fleming closing in on his home life, can he maintain his reputation as a respectable family man? Arnott and Fleming are determined to end this case once and for all, but they're running out of time to get inside Gates' head. In this episode of Line of Duty, Arnott and Fleming take on the corrupt officer Gates in a risky one-on-one confrontation that will determine whether the investigation can be concluded once and for all. The outcome of this confrontation will have far-reaching implications for all involved, with nothing being quite as straightforward as it seems.
