In the seventh episode of Lip Sync Battle's third season, two country music stars, Cassadee Pope and Dustin Lynch, take the stage for a holiday-themed showdown. Pope, who rose to fame after winning The Voice, is known for her powerhouse vocals and pop-country sound. Lynch, on the other hand, is an up-and-coming artist with a more traditional country style.
The episode opens with a festive performance from the show's backup dancers, who are dressed in colorful, sparkly outfits and dancing around a giant Christmas tree. Host LL Cool J and co-host Chrissy Teigen introduce Pope and Lynch before they take the stage for their first lip sync battle.
Pope kicks things off with a rendition of "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas," complete with a plush hippo prop and plenty of dance moves. Lynch follows with a performance of "Here Comes Santa Claus," complete with a cowboy hat and a tambourine.
Next up, Pope takes on the classic "Jingle Bell Rock," complete with a red sequin dress and backup dancers dressed in matching outfits. Lynch follows with a more subdued performance of "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town," accompanied by a guitar.
For their final battle, Pope takes on Dolly Parton's "Islands in the Stream," while Lynch brings some twang with his rendition of "Friends in Low Places" by Garth Brooks.
Throughout the episode, LL Cool J and Teigen provide commentary and encouragement, praising both performers for their energy and enthusiasm. And while only one can be crowned the winner, it's clear that both Pope and Lynch had a great time putting on a show.
Overall, the Country Holidays episode of Lip Sync Battle is a fun, festive tribute to some of the best-loved holiday classics. With two talented country stars on stage, it's the perfect way to get in the holiday spirit.
