Lo Que la Vida Me Robó is a Mexican television drama series that tells the story of Montserrat Mendoza (Angelique Boyer), a young woman who is forced to marry a wealthy man she does not love to save her family from financial ruin.

In season 1 episode 10, titled "Asesinato Por Amor" (Murder for Love), Montserrat is torn between her husband, Alejandro (Sebastian Rulli), and her lover, José Luis (Luis Roberto Guzmán). As the investigation into the crime begins, Montserrat must navigate a web of lies and deceit to protect herself and those she loves. She is forced to confront the harsh reality of the world she has married into and the dangerous people who will do anything to protect their interests.
