Looney Tunes Season 1944 Episode 21 Goldilocks and the Jivin' Bears

  • September 2, 1944

In the 21st episode of the Looney Tunes show's 1944 season, we witness the adaptation of a classic fairytale with a jazzy twist. The episode, titled "Goldilocks and the Jivin' Bears," features the iconic characters of Goldilocks and the three bears, but with a modern, musical vibe.

The episode opens with a shot of a jazz band playing a lively tune, and a narrator introducing our protagonist Goldilocks. She appears on the screen, singing and dancing along to the music, before heading into the forest to find an adventure. As she stumbles upon the empty house of the three bears, the jazzy soundtrack continues to accompany her journey.

Unlike the original fairytale, the bears in this episode are three musical brothers - Papa, a saxophonist, Mama, a drummer, and Junior, a pianist. The three of them were on their way to a gig when Goldilocks stumbled upon their empty house and decided to explore. As she tries out their furniture and belongings, each of the bears comes back home, one after the other, surprising Goldilocks, who ultimately invites them to play some music with her.

What follows is a fantastic jam session, with Goldilocks singing on the microphone and the bears showcasing their musical talent. The jazzy tunes keep the audience engaged, and it's difficult to not tap your feet along with the music.

However, the bears' human manager arrives, and he's livid when he sees Goldilocks singing with them. He wants to keep the band "purely bearish" and is not happy with the inclusion of a human in their act. Goldilocks, upon sensing the tension among the bears and their manager, decides to leave and let them sort out their issues.

In a surprise twist, the bears' manager has a change of heart and realizes that Goldilocks' presence has brought something special to the band's music. He humbly requests her to return, and the entire group reunites to perform one final song together.

The episode ends with Goldilocks walking away from the forest, singing, while the bears continue to play their music. The audience is left with a sense of joy and satisfaction, having witnessed a heartwarming episode filled with music, unity, and acceptance.

Overall, "Goldilocks and the Jivin' Bears" is an excellent addition to the Looney Tunes series. It's entertaining, engaging, and perfectly captures the essence of classic fairytale characters with a modern twist. The jazzy soundtrack and fantastic animation make it a must-watch episode for all music and animation lovers.
