  • January 6, 1945

In Looney Tunes: Season 1945 episode 1, titled "Odor-Able Kitty", we join the mischievous skunk, Pepé Le Pew, as he tries to woo a black and white female cat who accidentally gets white paint on her back, making her resemble a skunk.

The episode begins with the female cat, Penelope Pussycat, walking along the street, when she accidentally falls into a paint container, spilling white paint all over her back. As she tries to clean herself off, she is spotted by Pepé Le Pew, a French skunk with a passion for love. Mistaking her for a female skunk, Pepé begins his pursuit of Penelope.

Despite Penelope's attempts to run away, Pepé is persistent in his pursuit of her, using his charm and compliments to try and win her over. However, Penelope doesn't share the same feelings and tries to escape from Pepé by running away. Unfortunately for Penelope, Pepé is not deterred by her negative reactions and continues to follow her.

Throughout the episode, we see Pepé attempting to use his various romantic tactics, from holding a sign that reads "le sigh" to using his coat as a trampoline to impress Penelope. Despite Penelope's attempts to get away, including hiding in a trash can and pretending to be a skunk herself, Pepé remains smitten with her.

As the story progresses, Pepé's odor begins to take over the scene, causing everyone he interacts with to faint from the smell. Even Penelope isn't immune to the scent and ends up passing out after being overwhelmed by Pepé's musk.

Near the end of the episode, we see Penelope running away from Pepé again, this time finding refuge in a railway station locker room. As Penelope hides in a locker, she is accidentally locked in by a railroad worker. Pepé, who has been chasing her, thinks that Penelope has finally accepted his love and proposes to her through the locker door. However, when the railroad worker finally opens the locker, Penelope stumbles out and Pepé realizes the mistake he has made – that she is a cat, not a skunk.

In a comical ending to the episode, we see Penelope finally escaping from Pepé's advances, while Pepé himself finds himself in a winter coat and skiing down a slope, as he exclaims "the snow, she is so beautiful, no?".

In conclusion, Looney Tunes: Season 1945 episode 1, "Odor-Able Kitty", provides audiences with a humorous and light-hearted look at the pursuit of love, through the eyes of Pepé Le Pew, a character who has become a popular figure in the Looney Tunes franchise.
