Marvel's M.O.D.O.K. is a 10-episode animated series that follows the big-headed supervillain and leader of A.I.M. (Advanced Idea Mechanics), M.O.D.O.K. as he struggles to maintain his reign as the supreme evil genius amidst his crumbling personal life. Starring Patton Oswalt as the titular character, the show is set in the Marvel Universe and features an ensemble cast including Aimee Garcia as M.O.D.O.K.'s wife Jodie, Ben Schwartz as his son Lou, Melissa Fumero as his daughter Melissa, and Jon Hamm as Tony Stark/Iron Man.

M.O.D.O.K. (Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing) is a half-man, half-machine entity who possesses a giant head and scrawny limbs. As the leader of A.I.M., he is constantly thwarted in his attempts to take over the world by his arch-nemesis Iron Man and the Avengers. However, his biggest adversary may be his own family, as he tries to balance his work life with his crumbling personal life. Jodie, his wife, is fed up with his long hours and lack of emotional connection, and his two children resent him for his absenteeism and lack of attention.

The show's animation style is reminiscent of Robot Chicken, blending stop-motion animation with classic comic book-style artwork. Each episode is filled with witty one-liners, meta-textual humor, and a barrage of visual gags that will leave viewers in stitches. The show is also notable for its number of celebrity cameos, including Nathan Fillion, Whoopi Goldberg, Jon Daly, Bill Hader, and more.

Throughout the series, M.O.D.O.K. scrambles to maintain his power, even as his ego blinds him to the needs of those around him. In his attempts to take over the world, he finds himself hilariously outmatched by his enemies, leading to some truly ridiculous battle sequences. Meanwhile, his family struggles to come to terms with his erratic behavior, leading to some touching and poignant moments.

One of the show's standout episodes is an homage to ‘80s sitcoms, complete with a theme song reminiscent of Full House and a laugh track. M.O.D.O.K. tries to make amends with his family after they go on vacation without him, leading him to plan a surprise party that goes horribly wrong. The episode is a clever critique of the artificiality of sitcoms and their manufactured happy endings.

Another episode sees M.O.D.O.K. teaming up with his former ally, the supervillain Dr. Doom. The two villains share a high school history, and their dynamic is both hilarious and oddly touching. As they reminisce on their past, viewers get a glimpse into M.O.D.O.K.'s origin story and the events that led to him becoming the megalomaniac that he is today.

Marvel's M.O.D.O.K. is a darkly hilarious series that manages to balance its zany humor with poignant moments of character development. While it is sometimes raunchy and irreverent, it also manages to be surprisingly heartfelt, particularly in its portrayal of M.O.D.O.K.'s strained relationship with his family. The show is a blast for Marvel fans and non-fans alike, with its razor-sharp humor, engaging characters, and distinctive animation style.

Overall, Marvel's M.O.D.O.K. is a must-watch for fans of offbeat animation and superhero stories. With its stellar cast and whip-smart writing, it is easily one of the most inventive and original comic book adaptations to date.

Marvel's M.O.D.O.K. is a series that is currently running and has 1 seasons (10 episodes). The series first aired on May 21, 2021.
