Adventures in Crete, Greece is the twelfth episode of the first season of Mediterranean Life. In this episode, viewers are taken on a journey to the island of Crete, the largest of the Greek islands and the fifth largest in the Mediterranean.

The episode begins with an introduction to the stunning landscape of Crete, which is known for its beautiful beaches, rugged mountains, and ancient ruins. Hosts Jordan and Liz share their excitement for the adventures that lie ahead as they explore the island's unique culture, cuisine, and natural wonders.

The first segment of the episode focuses on the city of Chania, located on the western side of the island. Jordan and Liz take viewers on a walking tour of the historic city, which is home to a picturesque old town and a bustling harbor. They visit some of the city's most famous landmarks, including the Venetian harbor, the Municipal Market, and the Ottoman-era mosque of Kioutsouk Hassan.

Next, the hosts venture out of the city and into the surrounding countryside. They visit a local farm, where they learn about traditional farming practices and sample some of Crete's famous cheeses, olives, and wines. The farm also offers horseback riding, and the hosts take the opportunity to ride through the beautiful countryside and take in the stunning views.

The third segment of the episode takes viewers to the stunning Samaria Gorge, the longest gorge in Europe. Jordan and Liz embark on a challenging hike through the gorge, which stretches for over 16 kilometers and reaches a depth of 1,200 meters in some places. Along the way, they encounter breathtaking scenery, including towering limestone cliffs, crystal-clear streams, and an abundance of wildlife.

After the hike, the hosts take a well-deserved break and enjoy a traditional Cretan meal at a local taverna. They sample a variety of dishes, including stuffed vegetables, lamb souvlaki, and fresh seafood, and learn about the island's culinary traditions and the importance of locally-sourced ingredients.

The final segment of the episode takes viewers to the east side of the island, where Jordan and Liz explore the ancient city of Knossos. Knossos was the center of the Minoan civilization, which flourished on Crete from around 2600 BC to 1400 BC. The hosts take a tour of the city's impressive ruins, including the palace of Knossos, which was once the residence of the legendary King Minos.

Throughout the episode, Jordan and Liz share their love for the island of Crete and its unique culture, cuisine, and natural wonders. Viewers will be left feeling inspired to plan their own adventures on this beautiful, historic island.
