Joe, the underground fighter with a mysterious past, gets a rude awakening in episode 2 of MEGALOBOX season 1. After his first official match, which he easily won, Joe finds himself with a target on his back. Other fighters have taken notice of his skills and there are a number of people who are unhappy about his entrance into the boxing world.
As Joe begins to train for his next match, he is introduced to Sachio, a young boy who serves as his unofficial trainer. Sachio is a street kid who lives in a rundown part of town, but his knowledge of boxing is impressive. Under Sachio's tutelage, Joe begins to see that there is more to boxing than simply winning fights. Sachio teaches him strategy and warns him about the dangers of overconfidence.
Meanwhile, the shady characters from Joe's past make an appearance. One man, a powerful gangster named Fujimaki, warns Joe to stay out of the ring or risk facing dire consequences. Joe knows he can't back out now, however, and his determination to keep fighting only grows stronger.
As Joe prepares for his next match, he gains a new ally in the form of a doctor named Nanbu. Nanbu has a dubious past but he is an experienced trainer who sees potential in Joe. With Nanbu's help, Joe sheds some of his rough edges and begins to develop a more refined fighting style.
The next match is against a formidable opponent named Yuri. Yuri is a veteran fighter who has won multiple championships and is widely considered to be the best in the game. Joe knows he is outmatched, but he refuses to back down.
The fight takes place in an impressive arena, with crowds of cheering fans and flashing lights. As the two fighters step into the ring, the tension is palpable. The fight is intense and brutal, with both men taking heavy hits. Joe's unorthodox style surprises Yuri, but he remains unfazed. Just when it seems like Joe might have a chance, Yuri delivers a devastating punch that knocks him out.
The episode ends with Joe waking up in a hospital bed, bruised and battered. He is disappointed in himself for losing the fight, but he is determined to come back stronger. The scene ends with a shot of Joe's eyes, glinting with an unbreakable resolve.
