Ep 16. Cornflakes And The Hair Of Three Men

Christy prepares to take the bar exam but becomes sidetracked when Bonnie's ex-girlfriend, Jeanine (Rosie O'Donnell), arrives in town. Meanwhile, Bonnie tries to make Adam feel more at home in the apartment. While trying to help Adam feel at home in the apartment, Bonnie accidentally uses up all the milk. She sends Christy to the grocery store to get more milk, but instructs her specifically to get Cornflakes. When Christy returns home with a bag full of groceries, Bonnie is upset to find out that Christy forgot the Cornflakes. Bonnie insists that they go back to the store to get the Cornflakes, but Christy is reluctant to go back.

As they bicker about the Cornflakes, Jeanine arrives unannounced. Bonnie is surprised to see her and greets her with a kiss. Christy is taken aback by the situation and asks Bonnie if she is attracted to Jeanine. Bonnie denies it, but Christy is not convinced. Bonnie explains that they were just friends and Jeanine helped her get sober. Jeanine reveals that she is back in town for her granddaughter's birthday party and invites Bonnie and Christy to come along.

At the party, Bonnie and Christy meet Jeanine's daughter, who seems very happy to see her mother. Bonnie and Christy are confused as to why Jeanine never mentioned her daughter before. Jeanine explains that she and her daughter had a falling out and had not spoken in years. She says that she is hoping to make amends with her daughter but is unsure how to go about it.

Meanwhile, at the apartment, Adam is trying to fix the toilet but is having difficulty. Jill (Jaime Pressly) arrives and offers to help, but Adam is reluctant to let her because he is embarrassed about the state of the apartment. Jill insists and finds the problem with the toilet. She also notices that Adam has not unpacked his belongings yet. Jill suggests that he should put up some curtains and make the apartment more "homey." Adam agrees and thanks Jill for her help.

At the party, Bonnie and Christy get a chance to talk to Jeanine's daughter and find out that she is an artist. Bonnie is impressed and starts talking about her own love for art. She says that she used to paint but stopped when her life became too chaotic. Jeanine's daughter encourages Bonnie to start painting again, saying that it could be therapeutic.

As they leave the party, Bonnie tells Christy that she is grateful for her friendship and that she has been a positive influence in her life. Christy reciprocates and the two embrace.

Back at the apartment, Adam has unpacked his belongings and put up some curtains. Jill comes back to see how he is doing and is impressed with the changes. Adam thanks her again for her help and the two have a friendly conversation.

As the episode comes to a close, Christy is studying for the bar exam and Bonnie is painting. Jeanine calls Bonnie and they make plans to have dinner together. Bonnie hangs up the phone and looks at her painting, reflecting on the positive changes in her life.
