Monday Night Football Season 10 Episode 2 Los Angeles Rams at Denver Broncos

  • September 6, 1979

The highly anticipated Monday Night Football matchup for season 10 episode 2 features the Los Angeles Rams visiting the Denver Broncos at Mile High Stadium. This game marks the first meeting between these two teams since the Rams' triumphant victory over the Broncos in Super Bowl LIII.

Both teams come into this game with high expectations for their season. The Rams, led by quarterback Jared Goff, have a dynamic offense that ranked second in the league last season in points per game. They also boast a star-studded defense that includes defensive tackle Aaron Donald and cornerback Jalen Ramsey.

On the other side of the ball, the Broncos are hoping to bounce back after a disappointing 7-9 record last season. They have a new quarterback in Teddy Bridgewater, who was acquired in the offseason from the Carolina Panthers. The Broncos also have one of the league's best defenses, which is led by Von Miller and Bradley Chubb.

As the game kicks off, both teams seem determined to make a statement. The Rams open up the scoring with a long touchdown drive, capped off by a Goff pass to wide receiver Cooper Kupp. The Broncos, however, quickly respond with a touchdown of their own, as Bridgewater hits wide receiver Jerry Jeudy for a 50-yard score.

The Rams continue to pile on the points in the second quarter, as Goff connects with Robert Woods for a touchdown and running back Darrell Henderson Jr. rushes in for another. The Broncos, meanwhile, struggle to find their rhythm on offense, as Bridgewater throws an interception and the team is forced to punt on several drives.

In the second half, the Broncos come out firing. Bridgewater leads the team on a long touchdown drive, which he finishes off with a rushing touchdown. Then, late in the fourth quarter, he orchestrates another scoring drive, hitting tight end Noah Fant for a touchdown that brings the Broncos within striking distance.

With just a few minutes left in the game, the Broncos get the ball back and have a chance to tie it up. Bridgewater leads one more drive down the field, but the Rams' defense comes up big, forcing an incomplete pass on fourth down to seal the victory.

Overall, the Rams' offense proves to be too much for the Broncos to handle, as Goff throws for three touchdowns and Henderson rushes for over 100 yards. Bridgewater puts up a valiant effort for the Broncos, but it's not enough to overcome the Rams' firepower.

As the game concludes, both teams look ahead to next week. The Rams will head home to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a highly anticipated matchup between two of the NFC's top teams. The Broncos, on the other hand, will hit the road to face the Jacksonville Jaguars in what should be a winnable game for them.
