In Motherland: Fort Salem season 1 episode 4, titled "Hail Beltane," the witches of Fort Salem prepare for the upcoming Beltane Festival which celebrates the arrival of spring and acknowledges the sacrifice of witches who fought for their freedom.
Raelle struggles emotionally as she's faced with the anniversary of her mother's death, causing her to question her loyalty to the military. However, Anacostia steps in and helps Raelle work through her emotions, encouraging her to attend the festival.
Meanwhile, during a Beltane ritual, Tally discovers a shocking truth about herself that threatens to unravel her entire world. She confides in Abigail and Raelle, but struggles to come to terms with what it means for her future as a witch.
As the festival continues, tensions rise between the different witch covens causing chaos and danger for all involved. In a surprise twist, the three main characters find themselves in a life-threatening situation, forcing them to rely on each other and their training to make it out alive.
Throughout the episode, themes of sacrifice, sisterhood, and self-discovery are explored as the witches face their own personal struggles while fighting for a greater cause. "Hail Beltane" sets up for exciting plot developments and character arcs in episodes to come.
