The episode "A Tiffany" of Motherland: Fort Salem season 2 continues to follow our lead trio of witches- Raelle, Abigail, and Tally- as they navigate their way through the military's witch program during the aftermath of a devastating war. In this episode, we see a new addition to the group; former Spree member and nun-in-training, Willa.

Things start off interestingly enough when the girls are tasked with creating a swamp monster in a simulated battle exercise. It's a fun, quirky scene that showcases the trio's different strengths, but it also serves to introduce us to Willa and show how she operates. The former Spree member is prickly and standoffish at first, but as the episode progresses, we see her open up a bit and bond with the other witches, particularly Abigail.

Meanwhile, Raelle is dealing with a different kind of monster altogether. After discovering her mother was actually alive and being kept prisoner, she's struggling with the aftermath of their reunion. She's also trying to come to terms with her newfound understanding of what the Spree was really fighting for. It's a heavy storyline, but Taylor Hickson continues to bring depth and vulnerability to the role of Raelle.

Tally, on the other hand, is dealing with a seemingly trivial problem- a boy she likes has invited her to a fraternity party. But the reality is that this is no ordinary party. Fraternities in the world of Motherland are run by male witches, and they have a reputation for being dangerous and predatory towards female witches. Tally's arc in this episode is all about her trying to navigate this new and potentially dangerous social situation. It's a clever way to inject some real-world issues into the fantastical world of the show.

As always, the worldbuilding in this episode is fantastic. We get glimpses of different kinds of witches, including blasters who can manipulate energy and fixers who can heal injuries. One of the standout scenes involves Abigail sparring with a blaster to try and improve her own combat skills. The choreography is excellent, and it's just a really fun scene to watch.

The episode also does a great job of exploring the idea of legacy. We see Abigail grappling with the weight of her family name and trying to prove herself beyond her ancestors' accomplishments. We see Raelle wrestling with the knowledge that her mother was a key figure in the Spree, a legacy she never asked for. And we see Willa struggling to reconcile her past as a Spree soldier with her present as a witch-in-training.

Overall, "A Tiffany" is another strong episode of Motherland: Fort Salem that continues to deliver on the show's unique blend of magic and military. It does a great job of furthering the plot lines of our main characters while also introducing new elements and themes to explore. Fans of the show are sure to be pleased with this latest installment.
