Ep 5. Leaf of Absence / The Poop Scoop

My Gym Partner's a Monkey is an animated television series that premiered on Cartoon Network in 2005 and ran for four seasons. The show follows the adventures of a young boy named Adam Lyon who, after transferring to a school called Charles Darwin Middle School, becomes the only human student in a school full of animals…including his best friend, a mischievous spider monkey named Jake.

In season 2 episode 5, titled Leaf of Absence / The Poop Scoop, Adam is excited to participate in a school-wide Leaf Raking competition, as he's determined to win the grand prize of a free pizza party for his class. Meanwhile, Jake is less than thrilled to participate in the competition, as he's a monkey and doesn't think raking leaves is something he should have to do. However, when Jake discovers that the school janitor, Mr. Hornbill, is planning to use a leaf blower to blow all of the leaves into a big pile and then dispose of them, he decides to take matters into his own hands. Jake convinces Adam to let him handle the raking duties for their team and then proceeds to recruit a group of monkeys to help him. Chaos ensues as the monkeys use their wacky methods to rake the leaves, and Adam begins to worry that they'll never finish on time.

Meanwhile, in the B-Plot, Adam's animal classmates are all obsessed with a new gadget that's taken the school by storm - an electronic poop scooper that's supposed to make cleaning up after pets a breeze. Everyone is raving about how amazing the scooper is, but when Adam tries to use it on Jake's poop, he quickly discovers that it's not quite as easy as it looks.

As the Leaf Raking competition heats up, tensions rise between Adam and Jake as they struggle to keep up with the other teams. Jake's unorthodox methods continue to baffle Adam, but he can't argue with the results - the monkeys manage to gather nearly all of the leaves in record time. However, their victory is short-lived when they realize that they've made a critical mistake: they haven't bagged up the leaves, meaning they'll have to start all over again. Adam is frustrated with Jake for not following directions, but Jake is determined to show Adam that there's more than one way to rake leaves.

In the end, both Adam and Jake learn valuable lessons about teamwork and the value of hard work. The Leaf Raking competition ends in a tie, but everyone agrees that they had a great time and learned a lot. And as for the Poop Scoop, Adam realizes that sometimes the traditional methods are best, as he goes back to using a good old-fashioned shovel and bag.
