Mystery Science Theater 3000 Season 9 Episode 13

Ep 13. Quest of the Delta Knights

  • September 26, 1998

In Mystery Science Theater 3000 Season 9 Episode 13, the crew is subjected to the 1993 film Quest of the Delta Knights. The film is set in medieval Europe and follows a young boy named Tee who is on a quest to become a Delta Knight and save his kingdom from the evil King Fausto. Along the way, Tee teams up with a group of misfits, including the beautiful blonde warrior Maria and the bumbling wizard Leonardo.

As the crew of the Satellite of Love watches the film, they provide hilarious commentary and witty observations. As always, their quips range from references to pop culture and current events to clever jabs at the film's poor production values and cheesy special effects.

Throughout the episode, the crew delivers some of their most memorable one-liners, including hilarious riffs on the film's wooden acting, stilted dialogue, and ridiculous plot twists. For example, they jokingly suggest that the Delta Knights' primary weapon is "the power of flatulence," and they compare the film's villains to "a discount version of Skeletor from He-Man."

Despite the film's many flaws, the MST3K crew manages to find some redeeming qualities in Quest of the Delta Knights. For example, they praise the film's surprisingly catchy theme song and the impressive stunt work performed by the film's stunt doubles.

As the episode progresses, the crew becomes increasingly exasperated with the film's lack of coherence and quality. At one point, they even resort to poking fun at their own inability to understand the film's convoluted plot, jokingly proclaiming that they need a "Delta Knight decoder ring" to make sense of it all.

Despite the film's many flaws, the MST3K crew manages to find plenty of material to work with, delivering some of their funniest and most absurd commentary yet. By the end of the episode, viewers will be left with a newfound appreciation for the art of riffing, as well as a healthy dose of laughter and entertainment.
