No Guns Life Season 1 Episode 3 Puppet

In No Guns Life Season 1 Episode 3, titled Puppet, we see our protagonist Juzo Inui being hired by a local brothel as their security for an upcoming underground battle competition. The establishment, called the Perfect Day, is owned by the penguin-looking Berühren Corporation, which has a reputation for shady dealings. Juzo is to ensure that the competitors and the spectators don't cause trouble, but something fishy is going on at the Perfect Day.

Things start moving when an old friend of Juzo's, Cronen von Wolf, shows up as a competitor at the event. Cronen is a former soldier who served with Juzo, but he is now without a body. His brain has been implanted in a prosthetic body, and he is controlled by the Berühren Corp. Cronen was once one of the good guys, but he now works as a puppet for the corporation.

The Puppeteer, Berühren's top enforcer, is overseeing the event. He is infamous for his ability to control the automatons that Berühren provides, as if they were puppets. The Puppeteer is the one who usually controls Cronen, and he has the power to control anyone with a Berühren implant remotely.

Things start to go wrong when one of the fighters, Emma, is found dead outside the event. Juzo investigates and realizes that there is more going on than just a simple underground competition. Someone is using the event to smuggle illegal tech for the Berühren Corp.

Feeling guilty for letting Cronen become a puppet for Berühren, Juzo tries to reach out to his old friend. Meanwhile, he discovers that the Puppeteer has overheard his conversation with his friend. The Puppeteer sends an army of automatons after Juzo, who are not holding back.

When Juzo manages to get to Cronen and confronts him, he realizes that Berühren's control over him is too strong. Cronen is unable to break free from their grasp. In a desperate attempt to save his friend, Juzo injects Cronen with the "reset" serum. This destroys his body, but it effectively resets his mind, breaking Berühren's hold over him. Juzo's efforts were not in vain as Cronen is now free of the Berühren Corp's influence.

In the end, the illegal tech is stopped from being smuggled, and Juzo successfully protects the Perfect Day from any harm. The episode ends with Juzo leaving the brothel, but not before parting ways by eating a cake while flipping it.
