Ep 3. Vector

In Numb3rs season 1 episode 3, entitled "Vector," we are introduced to a case that throws the Los Angeles FBI office into a frenzy. The team is called in to investigate a series of robberies that have taken place at various pharmaceutical companies in the area. At first glance, the crimes seem unrelated, but upon closer inspection, they all seem to be connected by a strange biological substance that has been stolen from the companies.

Charlie Eppes, one of the main characters and a mathematical genius, becomes vital to cracking the case when he realizes that the substance in question is actually a deadly virus that could be used as a biological weapon. With his expertise, Charlie is able to put together an algorithm that helps the FBI narrow down the possible suspects to a select few.

As the investigation heats up, tensions rise amongst the team as they try to figure out the identity of the person responsible for stealing the virus. Colby Granger, one of the agents on the case, even goes undercover to try and gather more information.

Things take a turn for the worse when one of the stolen vials of the virus is accidentally released, causing numerous people to become infected. The team is forced to act quickly in order to try and contain the outbreak and prevent it from spreading.

Throughout the episode, we are also privy to glimpses of the personal lives of the characters. We see Charlie struggle with the idea of settling down with his girlfriend, Amita, while his brother, Don, deals with the stress of being an FBI agent.

"Vector" is a thrilling episode that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats as the team races against time to solve the case and prevent a large-scale biological attack. The use of math and science in the investigation adds a unique touch to the typical crime drama formula, making for a truly captivating viewing experience.
