- August 22, 2017
The second season of Outdaughtered: Life with Quints continues to follow the Busby family as they navigate life with six-year-old daughter Blayke and their five identical quintuplet daughters: Ava, Olivia, Hazel, Riley, and Parker. In episode seven, titled "The Nightmare Before Easter," the family gets ready for their Easter celebration while dealing with unexpected obstacles.
The episode opens with Adam and Danielle frantically preparing for Easter with their daughters. Danielle is busy decorating the house with Easter bunnies, eggs, and other festive decorations while Adam takes care of the backyard. The couple has planned an Easter egg hunt, games, and a special surprise for the girls.
However, things start to go wrong when Adam realizes that the pool is not ready for swimming. He had promised the girls that they could swim during the Easter celebration, but the water is still green and murky. Adam tries to fix the pool, but he soon realizes that it's more complicated than he thought. He turns to his brother-in-law, Dale, for help. Dale is a pool expert and comes over to check the pool. He tells Adam that it will take at least a day to fix the pool, and the girls will be disappointed.
The Busbys are then hit with another unexpected obstacle when they discover that the Easter bunny costume they ordered for their Easter celebration has not arrived. The company promised to deliver the costume before Easter, but it hasn't arrived yet. Adam and Danielle worry that their daughters will be disappointed without the Easter bunny.
Despite these setbacks, the family tries to make the best of the situation. Adam and Danielle decide to fill the pool with plastic balls instead of water, turning it into a ball pit. They also come up with a creative solution for the missing Easter bunny costume. They turn to their friend, Kiki, who is a makeup artist, to help them create a bunny face paint design for Adam, who will become the Easter bunny. Kiki, who is talented in makeup artistry, inspires them to not lose hope for their Easter festivities. She quickly assembles a face paint design for Adam complete with bunny ears, whiskers, pink nose, and rosy cheeks. She shows the whole family how to do it as well.
Finally, the day of the celebration arrives, and the Busbys get ready for their Easter egg hunt. Blayke and the quintuplets are excited about the ball pit, and they eagerly dive in. They laugh and play with the balls, while Adam jumps in and out of the pit in his Easter bunny costume, delivering Easter eggs and candy to the girls.
The Easter celebration is a success, and the Busbys are grateful for the small joys in life despite unexpected mishaps. They realize that life with quintuplets can be chaotic and unpredictable, but they wouldn't trade it for anything. The episode ends with the family enjoying time together in their backyard, grateful for the love and joy that each member brings to their family.
"The Nightmare Before Easter" showcases the Busby family's resilience and flexibility in the face of unexpected challenges. It emphasizes the importance of being creative and finding joy in the moment despite setbacks, epitomizing the positivity, teamwork and fortitude of the family in their unique circumstances.
