As they enter Madarame's Palace, they are greeted by various paintings and sculptures, all of which come to life and attack them. The team is also shocked to find replicas of their own masks scattered throughout the Palace, indicating that Madarame may have stolen their designs as well.

As they progress deeper into the Palace, they come across Madarame's Shadow, who initially belittles them for being unable to grasp the true meaning of art. However, upon being defeated, his true motivations are revealed. Madarame's art has become a means to an end for him, as he craves recognition and power above all else.

The group then enters Madarame's treasure room, where they find various stolen artworks and treasures. However, they soon realize that Madarame's true treasure is a painting that he has been keeping hidden from the public eye. It is a painting of his former student, Yusuke's, mother who had passed away. Madarame's Shadow reveals that he had stolen it from Yusuke as a means of controlling him and using his talent for his own gain.

The team confronts Madarame, who refuses to see reason and continues to believe that his actions were justified. However, Yusuke's pleas finally get through to him, and he breaks down in tears, fully admitting to his wrongdoings.

As the Palace crumbles around them, the group returns to reality with the stolen artwork in tow. However, they are met with the media, who had been tipped off by Madarame's confidant. As a result, the team is forced to publicly confess to their actions as Phantom Thieves, putting themselves at even greater risk.

Despite the potential consequences, the team remains determined to continue their mission of changing corrupt hearts and making a difference in their society.
