Ryoma, excited for the challenge and eager to prove himself, is determined to play his best.
Meanwhile, Seigaku's cute manager, Sakuno Ryuzaki, receives a love letter from a mysterious admirer, but she has no idea who could have sent it. Of course, this is all the team needs to distract themselves before the big tournament. The boys begin to tease her and plan a way to figure out who sent the letter.
The team congregate and immediately turn their focus towards finding out who sent the love letter. They use a variety of tactics, including pretending to send a love letter to one another, to deduce who the letter writer is. Naturally, this leads to a lot of hilarious moments and keeps the team preoccupied until their match begins.
When they finally get to Rokkaku High, the environment is tense. Each team is determined to beat the other and prove their dominance. The first match on the courts is a doubles match involving Inui and Kaido from Seigaku and Saeki and Aoi from Rokkaku. They are evenly matched and it looks like the match could go either way. Both teams are playing fiercely, but Seigaku prevails in the end.
Next up is the singles match. Ryoma, who's watched the doubles match from the crowd, is eager to represent Seigaku and prove his worth. They announce the opponent as Rokkaku's captain, Daimonji Yuu. It's an intense match, with each player exchanging powerful hits and trying to outsmart the other. Both players are equally skilled, and the game appears evenly matched as it reaches the end.
As the final set approaches, Ryoma starts to feel the pressure of the match, as he's determined to make Seigaku win. However, his opponent Daimonji is no slouch, and his style of play throws Ryoma off his game. Ryoma struggles to keep up, but Daimonji refuses to let him get an inch. With the tenseness of each point, the love letter Sakuno received fades away from everyone's interest and all concentration goes towards the match.
The episode ends with Ryoma winning in a dramatic finish, with sheer grit the main factor behind his success. This episode of Prince of Tennis is filled with humorous moments, romance, and fierce competition.
