Ep 8. Blame It on Rio

In Project Runway season 17, episode 8 titled "Blame It on Rio," the remaining designers are challenged to create resort wear looks inspired by the vibrant culture of Rio de Janeiro.

As the designers hit the workroom, tensions rise as they struggle to decide on their designs and find the right fabrics. Some contestants choose to incorporate bright colors and bold prints inspired by the city's Carnival celebrations, while others opt for more relaxed, beachy vibes.

The contestants also get a surprise visit from Olympic gold medalist Laurie Hernandez, who shares her experiences competing in Rio and watches as the designers present their looks on the runway.

But not everything goes smoothly for the designers, as some struggle to execute their designs and one even faces a medical emergency. As the clock ticks down to the runway show, tensions and nerves are at an all-time high.

In the end, judges Nina Garcia, Brandon Maxwell, and Elaine Welteroth evaluate the looks and decide which designers will move on and who will be sent home. Will the designers be able to rise to the challenge and impress the judges with their resort wear designs, or will they fall flat in the face of fierce competition?
